Kyros Ski App | Proof of concept

I’m a causal, leisurely and irregular skier. But I have this image of my favorite day skiing: Its sunny but there are some clouds and the sun isn't reflecting on the snow and blinding me. The snow is powdered but firm and freshly groomed. I now that I can’t expect these conditions every time I go skiing. But with the right information at my fingertips I can plan a trip that will come close. This is what Kyros does.

After focusing in on the user story, I sketched out what the app could look like that would answer the users needs. Next I made digital wireframes and made a simple prototype for users to test using InVision. In our classroom I tested the prototype app with my classmates and saw among other things that there was an initial confusion and struggle to find the settings that would help create the main Feed page. Based off of this observation I decided to create an onboarding process for the first time the user opened the app that would gather information about the users preferences. This would then create a feed of resorts that at any given time match the users preferences.

Based off of other feedback and the user story goal I wanted to add an element of social interaction and a step that would take the user beyond the app. This led to creating the Favorites page and the Plan a Trip option.
When the user goes to the Favorites they see the specific resorts that they are following. When they click on a resort in their Favorites it takes them to that resorts profile. Here they can see pictures and comments from other users, like there comments, and post their own content as well. At the bottom when they can tap the Plan a trip! button they are taken to that resorts website where they can buy a pass, find a place to stay and get more information.
